Birrigai 2027 School Camps and Excursion Bookings

Birrigai Outdoor School has improved the way it manages school camp bookings for 2027.

We have made it simpler and more equitable with a new Expression of Interest process, launching in term 3 2026, for all camp and excursion bookings in 2027.

This process will enable us to deliver more camps across the year through smarter, more efficient scheduling. This includes the free camps for ACT public primary schools initiative.

The Birrigai experience

With archaeological sites dating back more than 25,000 years, Birrigai is a place of significance for local Ngunnawal Peoples, the traditional custodians of the land. A visit to Birrigai will leave you inspired to view the world differently and to connect or re-connect to Country.

The team at Birrigai Outdoor School believe that a Birrigai experience is about:

  • Connection, empathy and obligation to others and the land
  • Adventure, challenge and success
  • Personal and social self-discovery
  • Wonder and inquiry
  • Enjoyment, engagement and laughter*.

Information about how these beliefs is reflected in engaging learning programs aligned to the Australian Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

*Birrigai means ‘laughter’ in the language of the Ngunnawal people.
