Scope of Learning The gold program focuses on Australian history through studying life in the Australian goldfields during the 1800s. Students develop understandings about gold mining and panning techniques, the roles and experiences of different groups on the gold fields and a traditional classroom. They also participate in a simulation of life on the goldfields.
